  1. Verify that the transmitter is the correct transmitter for the vehicle. This can be accomplished by comparing the part number printed on the transmitter to the appropriate part number in the parts catalog.
    • If not correct, replace the transmitter.
  2. Attempt to program the transmitter. Refer to Replacing Keys . The transmitter should program.
    • If the transmitter does not program, replace the transmitter.
