  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B59 or B63 impact sensor.
  2. Ignition OFF, wait 60 seconds, test for less than 10 Ξ© between the low reference circuit terminal 2 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K36 SDM.
  3. Test for greater than 50k Ξ© between the signal circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K36 SDM.
  4. Disconnect the harness connector at the SDM.
  5. Test for less than 1 Ξ© between the impact sensor signal circuit terminal 1 and the SDM terminal listed below.
    • Left front side impact sensor terminal 19 X2
    • Left front impact sensor terminal 23 X2
    • Right front side impact sensor terminal 22 X2
    • Right front impact sensor terminal 26 X2
    • Left rear side impact sensor terminal 27 X2
    • Right rear side impact sensor terminal 30 X2
    • If greater than the specified range, test the circuit for an open/high resistance.
  6. If all circuits test normal, replace the B59 or B63 impact sensor. The DTC should not be set as current.
    • If the DTC resets as current, replace the K36 SDM.
