Intake Manifold Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation hose/pipe/tube. Refer to Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the throttle body. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement (Removal and Replacement).
3. Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve tube. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
4. Reposition the brake booster vacuum hose clamp at the intake manifold.
5. Remove the brake booster hose from the intake manifold.
6. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector from the fuel injector inline electrical connector.
7. Remove the fuel injector inline connector clip from the intake manifold.
8. Disconnect the MAP sensor connector.
9. Remove the oil level indicator tube. Refer to Oil Level Indicator Tube Replacement (Service and Repair).
10. Remove the engine wire harness clip from the intake manifold.
11. Remove the intake manifold insulator.
12. Remove the fuel pump cover.
13. Disconnect the fuel feed hose from the chassis fuel line.
14. Remove the intake manifold bolts and nuts.
15. Remove the intake manifold.
Note: The intake manifold gasket is reusable. Only replace the gasket if damage has occurred.
16. Remove the intake manifold gasket, if necessary.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the intake manifold gasket, if necessary.
2. Install the intake manifold.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
3. Install the intake manifold bolts and nuts and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
4. Install the intake manifold insulator.
5. Install the fuel pump cover.
6. Connect the fuel feed line to the chassis fuel line.
7. Install the engine wire harness clip to the intake manifold.
8. Install the oil level indicator tube. Refer to Oil Level Indicator Tube Replacement (Service and Repair).
9. Connect the MAP sensor connector.
10. Connect the engine harness electrical connector to the fuel injector inline electrical connector.
11. Install the fuel injector inline connector clip to the intake manifold.
12. Install the brake booster hose to the intake manifold.
13. Position the brake booster vacuum hose clamp at the intake manifold.
14. Install the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve tube. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
15. Install the throttle body. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement (Removal and Replacement).
16. Install the positive crankcase ventilation hose/pipe/tube. Refer to Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement (Service and Repair).
