Preliminary Procedures

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (L26) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (LY7) .
  2. Remove the air cleaner housing. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls-3.8 L.
  3. Position the powertrain control module out of the way. Refer to Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Replacement in Engine Controls-3.8 L.
