Fastener Tightening Specifications: Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .

Preliminary Procedures

Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (L26) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (LY7) .
Remove the air cleaner housing. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls-3.8 L.
Position the powertrain control module out of the way. Refer to Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Replacement in Engine Controls-3.8 L.

Module, Transmission Control (TCM).
Tip:

Disconnect the TCM electrical connector.
New TCM must be programmed. Refer to Transmission Control Module Programming and Setup in Programming and Setup
