Replacing Front Engine Mount Bracket: Removal

2006 Buick Allure CXSSECTION Removal

  1. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Automatic Transaxle - 4T65-E.
  2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Replacing Drive Belt (L26)Β .
  3. IMPORTANT: Do not discharge the air conditioning system.
  4. Remove the A/C compressor from the engine. Refer to Compressor Replacement (L26) in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning.
  5. Secure the compressor away from the bracket area.
  6. Remove the engine mount. Refer to Replacing Engine Mount - FrontΒ .
  7. Remove the engine knock sensor shield and disconnect the sensor harness. Refer to Knock Sensor (KS) 2 Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.8L (L26 and L32).

  9. Remove the front engine mount bracket bolts from the engine.

  11. Remove the rear engine mount bracket bolts from the engine.
  12. Remove the engine mount bracket from the vehicle.
