2006 Buick Allure CXSSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (L26) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (LY7) in Engine Electrical.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Remove the crankshaft harmonic balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.
  4. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
  5. Remove the CKP sensor shield (1). DO NOT use a pry bar.

  7. Remove the CKP sensor studs.
  8. Remove the CKP sensor.
