MASS AIR FLOW (MAF)/INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE (IAT) SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Turn the ignition OFF.
2. Remove the mass air flow (MAF) electrical connector.
3. Remove the air cleaner intake duct.
4. Remove the MAF sensor screws.
5. Remove the MAF sensor and the MAF sensor seal.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the MAF sensor seal to the air cleaner cover.




2. Lubricate the seal with clean water.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT use any lubricant other than clean water on the MAF seal.

3. Install the MAF sensor to the air cleaner cover.
4. Install the MAF sensor screws.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the MAF sensor screws to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

5. Install the air cleaner intake duct.
6. Install the MAF sensor electrical connector.
