SCAN TOOL DATA DEFINITIONS
BCM Scan Tool Data Definitions: The BCM Scan Tool Data Definitions contains a brief description of all Lighting System related BCM parameters available on the scan tool.
DATA LIST
Ambient Light Sensor: The scan tool displays 2.1-4.3 volts. The voltage level varies based upon the amount of light detected by the ambient light sensor. When the sensor detects full bright the scan tool will display 2.1 volts. When low light is detected the scan tool will display 4.3 volts.
Backlight Dimming: The scan tool displays 0-35%. The illumination percentage varies, based upon the dimming switch information. When the dimming switch is rotated to full bright, the illumination percentage will increase. When the dimming switch is rotated to full dim, the illumination will decrease.
Dimming Switch: The scan tool displays 0-4.3 volts. The voltage level varies based upon the I/P dimming switch information. When the switch is rotated to bright the voltage will increase. When the switch is rotated to dim, the voltage will decrease. When the switch is placed in the OFF position, the voltage will be 0.
High Beam Input: The scan tool displays 0-12 volts. The voltage level varies based upon the headlamp switch information. When the switch is placed to HIGH position, the voltage will display 12 volts. When the switch is placed in the OFF position, the voltage will be 0.
INPUTS
Ambient Light Sensor: The scan tool displays inactive or active. When the ambient light sensor detects day light conditions, the scan tool will display inactive. When the ambient light sensor detects low light conditions, the scan tool will display active.
Fog Lamp Switch: The scan tool displays inactive or active. When the fog lamps are OFF, the scan tool will display inactive. When the fog lamps are ON, the scan tool will display active.
Courtesy Lamp Switch: The scan tool displays inactive or active. When the courtesy lamps are OFF, the scan tool will display inactive. When the courtesy lamps are ON, the scan tool will display active.
Headlamp Switch: The scan tool displays inactive or active. When the headlamp switch is in the OFF position, the scan tool will display inactive. When the headlamp switch is in the ON position, the scan tool will display active.
High Beam - Low Level: The scan tool displays inactive or active. When the DRL lamps are OFF, the scan tool will display inactive. When the DRL lamps are ON, the scan tool will display active.
High Beam - High Level: The scan tool displays inactive or active. When the high beam headlamps are OFF, the scan tool will display inactive. When the high beam headlamps are ON, the scan tool will display active.
Interior Lamp Defect Switch: The scan tool displays inactive or active. When the interior lamp defect switch is OFF, the scan tool will display inactive. When the interior lamp defect switch is ON, the scan tool will display active.
Park Brake Switch: The scan tool displays inactive or active. When the park brake is OFF, the scan tool will display inactive. When the park brake is applied, the scan tool will display active.
Park Lamp Monitor: The scan tool displays inactive or active. When the park lamps are OFF, the scan tool will display inactive. When the park lamps are ON, the scan tool will display active.
OUTPUTS
Ambient Light Sensor Relay: The scan tool displays OFF or ON. When the BCM is not applying a 5 volt reference to the ambient light sensor, the scan tool displays Off. When the BCM is applying a 5 volt reference voltage to the ambient light sensor, the scan tool displays On.
Backlight Dimming: The scan tool displays Off or On. When the BCM is not commanding the dimmable lamps On, the scan tool displays Off. When the BCM is commanding the dimmable lamps ON, the scan tool displays On.
DRL Relay: The scan tool displays Off or On. When the BCM is not commanding the DRL relay ON, the scan tool displays Off. When the BCM is commanding the DRL relay ON, the scan tool displays On.
Fog Lamp Relay: The scan tool displays Off or On. When the BCM is not commanding the fog lamps relay ON, the scan tool will display Off. When the BCM is commanding the fog lamp relay ON, the scan tool will display On.
Headlamp Relay: The scan tool displays Off or On. When BCM is not commanding the headlamp relay ON, the scan tool will display Off. When the BCM is commanding the headlamp relay ON, the scan tool will display On.
Inadvertent Power Relay: The scan tool displays Off or On. When the BCM is not commanding the inadvertent power relay On, the scan tool will display Off. When the BCM is commanding the inadvertent power relay On, the scan tool will display On.
Park Lamp Relay: The scan tool displays Off or On. When the BCM is not commanding the park lamp relay ON, the scan tool will display Off. When the BCM is commanding the park lamp relay ON, the scan tool will display On.
Theater Lighting: The scan tool displays Off or On. When the BCM is not commanding the theater dimming ON, the scan tool displays Off. When the BCM is commanding the theater dimming ON the scan tool displays On.
