2005 Buick LeSabre Limited, 4T65E/M15SECTION Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure

Tools Required: J 34730-1AΒ  Fuel Pressure Gauge. See Special ToolsΒ .

CAUTION: Gasoline or gasoline vapors are highly flammable. A fire could occur if an ignition source is present. Never drain or store gasoline or diesel fuel in an open container, due to the possibility of fire or explosion. Have a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid possible fuel discharge if an accidental attempt is made to start the engine.

  3. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L36) in Engine Mechanical.
  4. Remove the fuel pressure connection cap.
  5. Wrap a shop towel around the fuel pressure connection while connecting the J 34730-1AΒ  in order to avoid spillage. See Special ToolsΒ . Refer to Fuel Pressure Gage Installation and RemovalΒ .
  6. Install the bleed hose into an approved container and open the valve to bleed the system pressure. The fuel connections are now safe for servicing.
  7. Drain any fuel remaining in the fuel pressure gauge into an approved container.
