Removal Procedure

2005 Buick LeSabre Limited, 4T65E/M15SECTION Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Remove the right splash shield cover. Refer to Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Front in Body Front End.
  4. Remove the crankshaft harmonic balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement in Engine Mechanical-3.8L.

  6. Remove the crankshaft position sensor (CKP) shield (1). DO NOT use a pry bar.
  7. Disconnect the sensor electrical connector.
  8. Remove 2 attaching bolts from the CKP sensor.

  10. Remove the CKP sensor from the block face.
