Removal Procedure

2005 Buick LeSabre Limited, 4T65E/M15SECTION Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect ProcedureΒ .
  2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (L36) in Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.
  3. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L36) in Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.

  5. Remove the fasteners securing the generator brace.
  6. Remove the generator brace.
  7. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the generator.
  8. Reposition the protective boot from the generator output BAT terminal for access.
  9. Remove the generator output BAT terminal nut and disconnect the battery positive lead from the generator.

  11. Remove the generator mounting bolts.
  12. Remove the generator from the vehicle.
