Installation Procedure

- Position the generator on the engine.
- Install the generator mounting bolts.
Tighten:Β Tighten the generator mounting bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Connect the wiring harness connector to the generator.
- Connect the positive lead and install the generator output BAT terminal nut.
Tighten:Β Tighten the generator output BAT terminal nut to 12.5 N.m (111 lb in).
- Press the protective boot on to the generator output BAT terminal.
- Install the generator brace and fasteners.
Tighten:Β
- Tighten the generator brace nut to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Tighten the generator brace bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L36) in Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.
- Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (L36) in Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.
- Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect ProcedureΒ .
