Axle Shafts: Installation
2000 Buick Park Avenue Base, 3.8 KSECTION Installation
- To install axle shaft, reverse removal procedure. Lubricate tripot housing seal surface with clean transmission fluid. Push axle shaft into transaxle. Ensure axle shaft is seated fully by pulling outward on inner tripot joint housing. DO NOT pull outward on axle shaft as damage may occur.
- Install and tighten ball joint, knuckle, hub and bearing assembly bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ . Ensure a NEW cotter pin is installed on ball joint retaining nut.
