Test D: Power Door Lock Inoperative

2000 Buick Park Avenue Base, 3.8 1SECTION Test D: Power Door Lock Inoperative
  1. Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. Go to next step.
  2. Install scan tool. Disconnect inoperative door lock actuator harness connector. Connect test light between the inoperative door lock harness connector C2 terminals "A" and "B". Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, choose suspect door lock in DOOR LOCK TEST application of OUTPUT CONTROL application of SPECIAL FUNCTIONS in DRIVER DOOR MODULE (DDM) data list. Command inoperative door lock to lock and unlock. If test light does not flash once upon commanding LOCK and once upon commanding UNLOCK, go to next step. If test light flashes once upon commanding LOCK and once upon commanding UNLOCK, go to step  5 .
  3. Test inoperative door lock actuator circuits for open, short to ground, and shorts to each other. See DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR WIRE COLORS  table. If problem was not found, go to next step. If problem was found, repair as necessary, and then go to step  8 .
  4. Inspect for poor connection/terminal tension at harness connector of door module associated with inoperative door lock. If problem was not found, go to step  6 . If problem was found, repair as necessary, and then go to step  8 .
  5. Inspect for poor connections/terminal tension at harness connector of inoperative door lock actuator. If problem was not found, go to step  7 . If problem was found, repair as necessary, and then go to step  8 .
  6. Replace inoperative door module. See DOOR CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to step  8 .
  7. Replace inoperative door lock actuator. See DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to next step.
  8. Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
