2000 Buick Century CustomSECTION DTC C1216: EBCM Commanded Pressure Release Too Long
  1. Perform diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECKΒ  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Using scan tool, observe ABS/TCS DTCs related to wheel speed sensor or solenoid valve operation. If any related DTCs are displayed, diagnose affected DTCs. If no related DTCs are displayed, go to next step.
  3. Drive vehicle. Using scan tool in ABS/TCS/TIM DATA DISPLAY mode, monitor wheel speed sensor while decelerating vehicle from 35 MPH to zero MPH. If any of the wheel speeds indicate an erratic or intermittent operation, go to appropriate EXCESSIVE WHEEL SPEED VARIATION DTC (DTC C1225-C1228). If no problem is detected, go to next step.
  4. Check brake fluid for contamination. Check for excessive brake drag or suspension system irregularities. Repair as necessary. After repairs, go to step Β 7 . If no problem is found, go to next step.
  5. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Operate vehicle in an ABS stop. Recheck DTCs. If DTC resets as current DTC, go to next step. If DTC does not reset, system is okay.
  6. Replace BPMV. After replacing BPMV, go to next step.
  7. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Operate vehicle in an ABS stop. Recheck DTCs. If DTC resets, go to step Β 2 . If DTC does not reset, system is okay.
