DTC B2818: Low Tire Pressure System Reset Circuit Low: Testing

2000 Buick Century CustomSECTION Testing
  1. Perform BCM system diagnostic system check. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM harness connector C2. Turn ignition to ON position. Using a test light connected to battery voltage, test Light Green wire at BCM harness connector C2 terminal A3. If test light illuminates when tire inflation reset switch is pressed, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate when tire inflation reset switch is pressed, go to step  4 .
  3. With test light still connected as in step 2)  , disconnect tire inflation reset switch. If test light illuminates, go to step  5 . If test light does not illuminate, go to step  6 .
  4. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Reconnect all disconnected components. Turn ignition on and clear codes. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Wait 5 minutes and check for DTCs. If DTC B2818 resets as a current DTC, go to step  7 . If DTC B2818 does not reset as a current DTC, go to step  8 .
  5. Repair short to ground in Light Green wire between tire inflation reset switch (located inside fuse block) and BCM harness connector C2 terminal A3. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repair, go to step  9 .
  6. Replace tire inflation reset switch. After repair, go to step  9 .
  7. Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After replacement, perform set up procedure. See NEW BCM SETUP  under PROGRAMMING. After replacement, go to step  9 .
  8. Malfunction is not present. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  for additional information. After repair, go to next step.
  9. Turn ignition to OFF position. Reinstall all disconnected or removed components/connectors. Turn ignition switch to ON position. If all repairs are complete and DTC B2818 does not reappear, system is okay. If repairs are not complete and DTC B2818 does reset, go to TIRE INFLATION MONITORING DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
