Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV): Removal
1998 Buick RivieraSECTION Removal
- Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) is located in the front of the engine compartment, mounted to left frame rail. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air cleaner. Disconnect electrical connectors. Disconnect and plug hose from BPMV reservoir.
- Note location of primary and secondary brakelines, and remove lines. Plug brakelines to prevent loss and contamination of fluid. Remove harness strap. Remove BPMV bracket-to-frame bolts. Remove BPMV. If replacing BPMV assembly transfer necessary parts to NEW BPMV assembly.
NOTE:
When removing BPMV, protect vehicle exterior paint from possible brake fluid spillage.
