When checking potential ABS/TCS faults, check following before performing diagnostic trouble code testing:
- Check ABS fuse in instrument panel fuse block.
- Check HZRD/STOP fuse in rear fuse block located under rear seat.
- Check ABS MAIN and ABS PUMP MOTOR fuses in right underhood relay center.
- Check all ABS/TCS wiring harness connectors for proper engagement, loose wires or terminals and/or corrosion. Check harness routing; pay particular attention to wheel speed sensor wiring harness routing.
- Ensure parking brake switch is functioning properly.
- Ensure brake switches are properly adjusted.
- Check brake system for leaks and proper fluid level.
- Check ABS/TCS ground circuit for clean tight connections. Grounds are located under left kick panel trim, left side of engine compartment on frame rail near EBCM/EBTCM, and left side of engine compartment on frame rail near strut tower.
- Always perform diagnostic system check before diagnosing DTCs. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECKΒ .
