NOTE:
Perform this check before diagnosing symptoms.
- Move front height switch up and down. Move rear height switch up and down. Move entire seat switch up and down. Move forward/back switch forward and back. Move recliner switch up and down. Seat should move into each selected direction. If seat operates as specified, go to next step. If seat does not operate as specified, see procedures in LEFT SEAT DOES NOT MANUALLY MOVE IN ANY DIRECTION or LEFT SEAT DOES NOT MANUALLY MOVE IN ONE DIRECTION under SYSTEM TESTS.
- Turn ignition switch to off position. Put gearshift lever in Park. Press EXIT button. Seat should move to easy exit position (fully down and back) and a single chime should be heard. Mirror positions should not change. If seat operates as specified, go to next step. If seat does not operate as specified, go to SEAT DOES NOT MOVE TO EASY EXIT POSITION under SYSTEM TESTS.
- Momentarily press MEMORY-1 button. Left front seat and both mirrors should move to positions programmed for MEMORY-1. Single chime is heard. If seat operates as specified, go to next step. If seat does not operate as specified, go to ONE POSITION DOES NOT SET OR RECALL or MEMORY FUNCTIONS INOPERATIVE under SYSTEM TESTS.
- Momentarily press MEMORY-2 button. Left front seat and both mirrors should move to positions programmed for MEMORY-2. Single chime is heard. If seat operates as specified, go to next step. If seat does not operate as specified, go to ONE POSITION DOES NOT SET OR RECALL or MEMORY FUNCTIONS INOPERATIVE under SYSTEM TESTS.
- Manually move seat fully forward and up. Seat should move fully forward and up. Press MEMORY SET button, then press DRIVER-1 switch within 5 seconds. Press EXIT. Seat should move to easy exit position (fully down and back). After seat stops moving, momentarily press DRIVER-1 switch. Seat should return to fully forward and up position. If seat operates as specified, go to next step. If seat does not operate as specified, go to one of the following tests:
- Press UNLOCK button on remote keyless entry transmitter. Seat and outside mirrors should move to one of four programmed settings for DRIVER-1. See PERSONALIZATION (KEYLESS ENTRY). If seat and mirrors operate as specified, system is operating properly. If seat and mirrors do not operate as specified, locate and repair problem in remote keyless entry system. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM article.
