- If left mirror does not operate, place mirror select switch in left position. Using a test light, backprobe mirror control switch connector between terminals "C" and "D" on Caprice and Impala SS or between terminals "C" and "E" on Roadmaster. See MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINALS table. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Toggle mirror position switch to up position, and go to step 3).
- If right mirror does not operate, place mirror select switch in right position. Using a test light, backprobe mirror control switch connector between terminals "E" and "F" on Caprice and Impala SS or between terminals "C" and "F" on Roadmaster. See MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINALS table. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Toggle mirror position switch to up position, and go to next step.
- If test light does not come on, check mirror control switch connector. If connector is okay, replace mirror control switch. If test light comes on, backprobe suspect outside mirror connector between terminals "C" and "D". See OUTSIDE MIRROR CONNECTOR TERMINALS table. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Toggle mirror position switch to up position. If test light does not come on, go to next step for Caprice and Impala SS and step 5) for Roadmaster. If test light comes on, check suspect outside mirror connector. If connector is okay, replace suspect outside mirror drive unit.
- On Caprice and Impala SS, if test light did not come on, repair open in left outside mirror Light Green wire between mirror control switch connector terminal "C" and left outside mirror. If test light does not come on, repair open in right outside mirror Light Blue/Black wire between mirror control switch connector terminal "F" and right outside mirror. See OUTSIDE MIRROR CONNECTOR TERMINALS table. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- On Roadmaster, if test light did not come on, check for an open in Yellow wire between mirror control switch connector terminal "C" and suspect outside mirror connector terminal "D". If circuit is okay, check for an open in Light Blue wire between mirror control switch connector terminal "B" and suspect outside mirror connector terminal "A". See OUTSIDE MIRROR CONNECTOR TERMINALS table. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
