Due to the sensitivity of ABS components to electromagnetic interference, the following checks should be performed is an intermittent malfunction is suspected:
1. Check for proper installation of wiring harnesses resulting from add on options.
2. Visually inspect wheel speed sensor and toothed sensor ring for looseness, damage, accumulation of foreign material and proper mounting. Replace damaged components, remove any foreign material and properly attach all components.
3. Check front wheel speed sensor wiring for proper routing away from spark plug wires.
4. Using tool No. J-39200 DMM, or equivalent, measure resistance of spark plug wires. If "OL" (infinite) or a resistance greater than 30,000 ohms for any wire, replace spark plug wires.
5. While test driving vehicle, monitor Tech 1 wheel speeds. If any wheel speed drops or displays an erratic speed, refer to appropriated wheel speed sensor DTC.
