Red Warning Light

1990 Buick Regal Custom, 3.8 L, 4T60/ME9SECTION Red Warning Light
  1. With ignition off, attach Tech I (94-00101-A) scanner to ALDL connector. Turn ignition on. Read brake pressure from scanner. If brake pressure is less than 1800 psi (127 kg/cm2 ), scan anti-lock controller for additional codes. If no codes are found, perform ABS-III SYSTEM FUNCTION CHECK "A".
  2. If brake pressure is greater than 1800 psi (127 kg/cm2 ), disengage fluid level sensor switch connector from Powermaster-III and apply service brakes. Release parking brake. If light remains on, check parking brake switch and fluid level sensor wire harness and connectors. Repair or replace as necessary.
NOTE: The following tests should only be used if a diagnostic chart has directed technician to these tests or if a problem exists but no codes have been set.
