Code A024: Left Front Release Solenoid Energized Too Long

1990 Buick Regal Custom, 3.8 L, 4T60/ME9SECTION Code A024: Left Front Release Solenoid Energized Too Long

Using left front wheel speed sensor, the anti-lock brake controller can monitor wheel for lock-up. If wheel lock-up occurs, the anti-lock brake controller activates left front release solenoid until lock-up conditions are eliminated. Code A024 will set if the anti-lock brake controller senses release solenoid has been energized too long.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. Other faults may cause Code A024 to be set falsely. Servicing other codes first may eliminate need to perform Code A024 diagnosis.
  2. If wheel speed input stays at zero MPH, perform Code A045 diagnosis. If wheel speed remains steadily at low speed, a mechanical or hydraulic problem is indicated.
  3. Checks for possible short to voltage on circuit No. 830 and circuit No. 873.
