Anti-Lock Brake System: Description
The Delco Moraine Anti-Lock Brake System-III is designed to prevent wheel lockup during heavy braking. This provides improved driver control by reducing the distance required to stop vehicle.
Major component parts of system include the following: anti-lock brake controller, 4 wheel-speed sensors, 2 dash-mounted warning lights, front and rear enable relays and Powermaster-III booster/master cylinder assembly. The Powermaster-III, known as a hydraulic unit on other models, also houses hydraulic accumulator, electric pump motor, solenoids and pressure switch. See Fig 1.

When to See a Mechanic
