Lower Control Arm: Installation
1990 Buick Regal Custom, 3.8 L, 4T60/ME9SECTION Installation
- Place lower control arm in frame. Control arm-to-frame pivot bolts MUST be installed with bolt heads facing each other. See Figure .
- Tighten ball joint stud nut to 15 ft. lbs. (20 N.m). Tighten ball joint stud nut an additional 90 degrees (1 1/2 flats) or until next slot aligns with cotter pin hole in stud. DO NOT tighten nut more than 60 degrees to align with cotter pin hole. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
CAUTION:
NEVER loosen nut during ball joint stud nut tightening procedure.
