Code A006: Front Enable Coil Shorted To Battery
The front enable relay receives voltage when the ignition switch is in the RUN position and front enable relay control is open. When front enable relay control is closed, front enable relay terminal No. 3 and circuit No. 972 are grounded so terminal 1D13 of anti-lock brake controller will not have voltage. To set Code A006, the following conditions must occur.
- Front enable relay control is energized (closed).
- Anti-lock brake controller senses voltage at terminal 1D13.
- Anti-lock brake controller senses no voltage at terminals 1D1, 1C3, 1C6 and 1C9.
- If both Enable Relay connectors are disconnected, Code A008 will be set.
- Disconnect front enable relay to determine if short to battery exists.
- Test for short in front enable relay.
- Code A005 will set if open exists in relay coil.
- Code A006 indicates anti-lock brake controller is defective.
