Forward & Direct Clutch

1. Install forward clutch assembly, shaft first into direct clutch. Hold direct clutch housing and rotate forward clutch back and forth until forward clutch is completely seated. When forward clutch is seated, it will be approximately 5/8 inch (15.8 mm) from tang end of the direct clutch housing to end of forward clutch drum.
2. Install tool No. J29337 or equivalent, onto direct and forward clutch assemblies.
3. Install direct and forward clutch assemblies into transmission and rotate assembly into position. The direct clutch housing will be approximately 4 1/8 inch (105 mm) from oil pump face in transmission case when correctly seated.
4. Remove tool No. J29337 from direct and forward clutch assembly.
