Remove Engine Mount

2023 BMW X3 M BaseSECTION Remove Engine Mount
  • Mark and make the separating cut (1) as shown.
  • Release self-tapping screws in area (2).
  • Release welded connections in areas (3).
NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION

  • Heat and release the bonded connection (2).
  • Remove the section of the carrier support.

  • Undo the self-tapping screws (1).
  • Heat and release the bonded connection in the area (2).

  • Release the rivet connectors in the area (1) and the self-tapping screws in the areas (2).
  • Heat the bonded connections in areas (1) and (2) release them. Do not damage aluminum spring support in the process!

  • Release the self-tapping screws and rivet connectors in the area (1).
  • Heat and release the bonded connection in the area (1).

  • Mark the separating cut according to the schematic diagram and cut. Do not damage aluminum spring support (2) in the process!
  • Remove the engine mount section (3).

  • Open welded connections in area (1).
  • Release self-tapping screws in area (2).
  • Heat and release the bonded connection in the area (2).
  • Remove reinforcement (3).

  • Carry out the rough separating cuts (1) as shown. Detach engine mount section-wise.
  • Release the rivet connectors in the areas (2) with a file belt sander.
  • Heat the bonded connections in the areas (2) and release them.

  • Release rivet connectors in area (1).
  • Heat the bonded connection (1) and remove the engine mount.
