41 23 501 Front Convertible Top Bow Replacement (Roof Outer Skin Removed)

The following body parts are required (see Electronic Parts Catalog EPC):

Following CONSUMABLES are required:

| Adhesive tape for spacer | 1 |
Removal:
Secure the convertible top bow (1) against falling off.
Saw off convertible top bow (1) on both sides of vehicle along the line (2).
Remove convertible top bow (1).
Do not damage roof frame (3) when sawing.
Only disconnect the outer component!
Grind off adhesive flanges in areas (1).
Only disconnect the outer component!
Grind off adhesive flange in area (1).
Preparation:
Adjust convertible top bow (1) in conjunction with the roof outer skin (2).
Position convertible top bow (1) by means of the centering pins (3).
Mark installation position of the convertible top bow (1) with adhesive tape.
Remove convertible top bow (1) and roof outer skin (2).
PREPARE bonding surfaces on the vehicle and on the new part.
Bond three spacers in the area (1).
Bond three spacers in the area (2).
Installation:
Apply adhesive K2 to both sides of the bonding surfaces.
Slide in convertible top bow (1) from the front side to the mark.
Fix convertible top bow (1) by means of clamping pliers.
Check position of convertible top bow by means of roof outer skin.
Remove excess adhesive.
Do not use any cleaning agents containing solvents.
