Necessary preliminary tasks:Β 

Unlock connector (1) and remove.

Release nuts (2) and disconnect positive battery cables.

Tightening torque: 12 42 2AZ .

Release screws (3).

Installation note:Β 

Pay attention to the different screw lengths.

Tightening torque: 12 41 1AZ .

Tightening torque: 12 41 2AZ .

Remove starter motor (4).

Installation note:Β 

Check starter pinion and ring gear for damage. Replace starter motor if necessary.
