13 71... Removing acoustic covers (N57 D30 O/T 1)
Necessary preliminary work:
- Only if rear acoustic cover needs to removed:
Remove INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING .
Remove ACOUSTIC INSULATION for bulkhead, center.
- Only if front acoustic cover needs to removed:
Remove FAN COWL .
- Only if bottom acoustic cover needs to removed:
Remove front UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
Only F12 and all-wheel drive vehicles:
Remove STIFFENING PLATE
- Only if acoustic cover on oil sump needs to removed:
Lower front axle support . See 31 11 506 LOWERING/RAISING FRONT AXLE SUPPORT (UNIVERSAL LIFTER) or 31 11 506 LOWERING/RAISING FRONT AXLE SUPPORT (ALL-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE) .
Remove rear acoustic cover:
Release positive battery cable (1) from clamps.
Release expanding rivets (2).
Remove rear acoustic cover (3).
Remove front acoustic cover:
Release screws (1).
Remove front acoustic cover (2).
Remove bottom acoustic cover:
Release screws (1).
Remove bottom acoustic cover (2).
Remove front acoustic cover on oil sump:
Release positive battery cable from clamp (1).
Unfasten screws (2).
Feed out front acoustic cover (3) on oil sump to the rear and remove.
