SITUATION
- No sound from the radio, telephone, gong signal and or PDC.
- Poor radio reception and failure of the telematics systems.
- Possible Check Control system message:
- Battery discharge when engine off.
- Caution, no acoustic warning signals.
CAUSE
Non BMW approved (third-party supplier) USB cable plugged into the USB port.
CORRECTION
Install new BMW approved USB charging cable.
PROCEDURE
- Check that a non BMW approved USB cable is plugged into any of the USB ports.
- Remove the non BMW approved USB cable.
- Confirm that cause of the errors have been resolved.
- Inform the customer to use BMW approved USB charging cables only!
- The non BMW approved USB cable or connector is to No longer be used!NOTE: Programming or USB hub replacement does NOT provide a remedy!
- The non BMW approved USB cable or connector is to No longer be used!
