WARNING:

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Disconnect battery negative lead . See 61 20 900 DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY NEGATIVE LEAD .
- Remove glove compartment . See 51 16 366 REMOVING AND INSTALLING RIGHT GLOVEBOX WITH HOUSING (CONVERTIBLE) or 51 16 366 REMOVING AND INSTALLING RIGHT GLOVEBOX WITH HOUSING (COUPE).
Unlock plug connections (1) and disconnect.
NOTE:
Secure airbag module against falling out.
Unscrew nuts (2).
Tightening torque, see 72 12 01AZ in 72 12 AIRBAG MODULES .
Remove airbag module in downwards direction.
