Procedure For Compatibility Check Of The Telephone System

1. Open the current market-specific / brand-specific compatibility matrix (storage location see table above).

2. Compile mobile phone data:
- Model of the mobile phone
- Read out the software version of the mobile phone (procedure: see compatibility matrix)

3. Compile control module data:
- Variant of control module (TCU, ULF, ULF-SBX or ULF-SBX-H)
- Control module software version (BMW part number)

This data is displayed at the start of the test modules "Fault pattern catalogue, telephone system". It can be also be read out at the DIS tester at control-module functions --> Identification.

4. On the basis of the mobile phone data, the control module data and the compatibility matrix, determine whether the present combination of BMW telephone system and mobile phone has been tested and whether any restrictions are known.

Note: The fault patterns and diagnosis functions offered on the DIS tester are valid for tested mobile phones. If the problem reported by the customer is described in the compatibility matrix, the instructions given in the compatibility matrix have priority.
