Fault text
Oxygen sensor plausibility before catalytic converter, Bank
2

Fault description

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
* Engine temperature > K_LAVK_OBD_TMOT * relative
charge density within the limits
K_LAVK_OBD_PLAU_RF_Max and
K_LAVK_OBD_PLAU_RF_Min; no dynamic response *
exhaust gas temperature within the limits
K_LAVK_OBD_PLAU_TKat_Max and
K_LAVK_OBD_PLAU_TKat_Min * after W
Terminal condition: Engine running -
idle or partial load
Voltage condition:
none

Condition for fault memory entry
Oxygen sensor voltage behind catalyst <=
K_LAVK_OBD_PLAU_LANK_Min (lean) and lambda AF
ratio forward of cat <= K_LAVK_OBD_PLAU_LAM_fett
(rich) for a number of K_LAVK_OBD_PLAU_F_CNT after
a lag period at start of operation of
K_LAVK_OBD_PLAU_T seconds

Action in service
1. Delete stored DTCs from error memory, system test on
oxygen sensors
2. Check plug and wiring harness on Bank 2 pre-catalyst
oxygen sensor
3. Check induction and exhaust systems for leaks
4. Replace oxygen sensor

Fault effect and breakdown warning

When to See a Mechanic

Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

  • β€’ You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
  • β€’ Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
  • β€’ The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
  • β€’ You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
  • β€’ You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
