Purpose of System: Notes

2006 BMW 330xi AutomaticSECTION Notes

The Multiple Restraint System 5 (MRS 5) provides enhanced passive protection for vehicle occupants in the event of a serious collision. The system is regarded as passive in the respect that it operates automatically without interactions by the vehicle occupants.

It differs from the previous MRS4 system in that reaction time is decreased and accuracy increased due to the addition of the door pressure sensors and up front sensors.
