Fuel Injector Control Module: Service and Repair

13 61 550 - Removing and installing/replacing control unit for direct injection (N73)





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Read fault memory.

- Switch off ignition.

- Follow instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery Instructions for Disconnecting and Connecting Battery.

Disconnect battery.

Important!
- Observe removal and installation of electronic control units Service and Repair.

Observe following instructions before replacing control unit:

- Program control unit Programming Control Unit (DME/DDE).

- Code control unit Coding Control Module (DME/DDE).





Remove right fresh air duct Removing and Installing/Replacing Left or Right Fresh-Air Duct (Automatic A/C High).
Release screw and remove holder (1).
Release screws and remove cover (2) from control unit box.

Note:
Release screws on seal (3) only when removing wiring harness.





Installation Note:
Insert tabs (1) in openings (2) and close cover.





Unlock plug connections (6) on HDEV control unit (cylinders 1-6) and disconnect.

Installation Note:
Cable colors black.

Unlock plug connections (5) on HDEV control unit (cylinders 7-12) and disconnect.

Installation Note:
Cable colors red.





Assemble vehicle.
Check function of DME.
