DME Master Relay Terminal Identification:
Perform this test if the engine will not RUN and the Digital Motor Electronic (DME) main relay is suspected to be the cause.
1. With the ignition switch OFF, remove the DME main relay and check for voltage at the following relay socket terminals:
2. Terminal 6 and ground. voltage = battery
3. Terminal 8 and ground. voltage = battery
4. Terminal 6 and 4. voltage = battery
If any voltage is incorrect, repair wiring as necessary. If ground is not present at terminal 4, the DME control module may be defective.
5. If all voltages are correct, bridge terminal 8 with terminals (2 and 5) of the relay socket.
6. Start the engine.
If the engine RUNS, replace the DME main relay.
