IHKR/F3 CONTROL MODULE
- The control module is mounted in the same location, and removed and installed the same way as for IHKR1 and IHKR2 control modules.
- As introduced during the 1991 MY, the IHKR/F3 control module connections are pin- for-pin the same as for the IHKR2 module.
- The IHKR/F3 module is, however, made physically smaller than the IHKR2 module to provide space for the microfilter.
- Early production modules have software version 04; more recent production ones have version 06.
- Like the IHKR2 module, IHKR/F3 memory is non-volatile; fault codes stored in memory remain there when the ignition is switched "Off".
- Fault codes are accessed (and can be erased) using the BMW DIS.
