Control Unit Identification

1993 BMW 740iL (E32/2) V8-3982cc 4.0L DOHC (M60)SECTION Control Unit Identification

Control Unit Identification:

After selecting a control unit from the general overview, the BMW DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM detects which version of the control unit (software version, country-specific version etc.) is installed and automatically allocates the correct test program.

Important!

If a different car is connected to the system or if a control unit has been changed, return to the general overview of control units in the BMW DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM and reselect the corresponding control unit.

Only in this way can you ensure correct program allocation to the control unit version installed in the vehicle.
