Hot Film Air Mass Sensor
1993 BMW 740iL (E32/2) V8-3982cc 4.0L DOHC (M60)SECTION Hot Film Air Mass Sensor
The air volume input signal is produced electrically by the Hot Film Air Mass Sensor. The sensor operates in the same manner as the hot wire air mass sensor.
The hot film sensor uses a heated metal film in the air flow stream instate of a heated wire. This design provides improved reliability and eliminates the need for the "clean burn" function after engine shut-down.
