System Operation Check
Turn ignition switch to ON position (engine not running). If no fault codes are present, SRS warning light should go out after 10 seconds. The following conditions indicate SRS system is malfunctioning and an SRS fault code will be stored in crash sensor memory:
- SRS light does not illuminate.
- SRS light does not go out after 10 seconds.
- SRS light does not go out after engine is started.
- SRS light comes on while driving.WARNING: To avoid injury from accidental air bag deployment, read and carefully follow all WARNINGS and SERVICE PRECAUTIONS.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
