Drive Pinion Gear
1992 BMW 325is AutomaticSECTION Drive Pinion Gear
- With differential removed from housing, hold companion flange stationary and remove lock nut. Pull off companion flange. Check bearing surface of flange. Replace flange if deeply scored. Pull out and discard seal. Press drive pinion from housing.
- Remove collapsible spacer. Remove front housing bearing using Puller Set (33-1-350 and 33-1-371 ). Remove drive pinion shaft oil seal. Using Puller Set (33-1-350 , 33-1-356 , 33-1-362 and 33-1-363 ), remove pinion inner bearing race from case. Note shim "X" thickness under bearing race. See Fig 1 .
