Reverse Lock
The reverse lockout function prevents hydraulic shifting of the reverse gear at a vehicle speed greater than 5 mph (8 km/h). Neutral is engaged instead of reverse if the selector lever is moved to position R, before the vehicle speed has dropped below 5 mph (8 km/h).

This function is performed by the solenoid valve 2.
