Please remove and discard S.I. 62 01 90 (3007) dated April 1990 from your S.I. binder.

SUBJECT: Erroneous Display In LCD Display Module
MODEL: E32 and E34 (with Redesigned Instrument Cluster)
Situation: After switching the ignition ON, flashing and illegible displays may alternately appear in the LCD Display Module.
Cause: Interference from the IHKR/IHKA coolant pump.
Correction: Replace the coolant pump with one equipped with a protective diode.
These pumps have a production date of 279 or later.
Warranty
Status: Covered under the terms of the BMW New Car Limited Warranty of 3 Years/36,000 Miles.
Defect code: 64 11 35 79 00
Labor operation: 64 11 260
Labor allowance: 7 FRU - All except 750iL
9 FRU - 750iL
