This Service Information bulletin supersedes S.I. 04 14 85 (1091) dated June 1986. It lists the part numbers and prices for two new connecting cables (black side bar).
Please remove and discard S.I. 04 14 85 (1091) dated June 1986 from your S.I. binder.
SUBJECT: Universal Adapter - BMW SERVICE-TESTER
When using the BMW SERVICE-TESTER multimeter for troubleshooting electrical or electronic systems (especially wire harnesses, sensors, etc.), the contacts of plug connections can be easily damaged.
To minimize this possibility, a universal adapter has been developed.
This universal adapter is designed for plug connections with up to 55 pins and is connected to cables which are specifically designed for the systems to be checked.
The multimeter can be connected both with alligator clips (BMW SERVICETESTER) and with spring contact plugs to the individual pins of the universal adapter.
Hints on application and operation are contained in the Troubleshooting Charts of the Repair Instructions.
