Automatic Climate Control Electrical Components, Checking: Notes
Tools required
- Multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent)
- VAG 1598 test box with VAG 1598/11 and 1598/12 adapter cables
- Connector test kit VW 1594
- LED tester US 1115
- Dial thermometer:91120Β or equivalent
Requirements
- All fuses OK per wiring diagram
Checking
-- Switch ignition OFF.
-- Remove A/C control headA/C control head -E87- CLIMATE CONTROL COMPONENTS, PASSENGER COMPARTMENT .
-- Connect :VAG1598/11Β and adapter:VAG1598/12Β cables to A/C control head connectors -A-, -B-, -C- and -D-.
Do not connect A/C control head.
- With the adapter:VAG1598/11Β cable, test box socket numbering does NOT match the terminal numbering on the A/C control head connectors.
- With the adapter:VAG1598/12Β cable, test box socket numbering is identical to the terminal numbering on the A/C control head connectors.
- To avoid damaging electronic components, switch the measuring range on multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent) before making connections to test sockets.
