Overview - External Multimedia Device Connection, From My 2017
There are several versions of the connection for external multimedia devices:
- AUX IN jack, UE3
- AUX IN jack and USB charging port, UE4
- AUX IN jack and two USB ports with charging and data transfer function (Audi music interface), UE7
- AUX IN jack and two USB ports with charging and data transfer function (Audi smartphone interface), UI2
On versions with two USB ports with charging and data transfer functions (UE7/UI2), there are the following versions for dividing both USB ports:
- Both USB ports are in the center console storage compartment under the front center armrest
- One USB port is in the center console storage compartment under the front center armrest and one USB port is in the front center console storage compartment
External Audio Source ConnectionR199 Component Location
The External Audio Source Connection -R199- -1- is in the center console storage compartment under the front center armrest.
Either only an AUX IN jack (UE3) is installed or an AUX IN jack and a USB charging port (UE4) is installed.
USB DistributorR293 Component Location
The USB Distributor -R293- -1- is located in the center console storage compartment under the front center armrest.
There is either an AUX IN jack and a USB port with charging and data transfer functions or an AUX IN jack and two USB ports with charging and data transfer functions.
USB Connection 1U41 Component Location
The USB Connection 1 -U41- -1- is located in the front center console storage compartment.
The USB Connection 1 -U41- -1- is equipped, if the USB Distributor -R293- only has one USB port in the center console storage compartment under the front center armrest.

When to See a Mechanic
