Infotainment System Display, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Remove the vents in the center of the instrument panel. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL .
-- Raise the display and protect with film.
The display cover -1- is secured with several spring tabs -arrows- (quantity: 10) on the display kinematics support.
-- It is not necessary to remove the display cover.
-- Remove the screws -2 and 3- behind the vents on the display kinematics support -1-.
The screws -2 and 3- are captive screws.
-- Push the display kinematics support upward through the vent openings near the retainers -1- and out of the instrument panel using both hands.
The display must be moved into the service position. Refer to Vehicle Diagnostic Tester. The display comes out slightly in the service position so that the two screws at the left and right on the side of the display kinematics support can be reached. The display can be separated from the display kinematics support by removing these screws.
Procedure
-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
-- Select the Diagnostic mode and start the diagnosis.
-- Select the Test plan tab.
-- Select the Select individual test button and select the following tree structure consecutively:
- Body
- Electrical system
- 01 - OBD-capable systems
- 5F - Information electronics control module 1- J794
- 5F - Information electronics control module 1, functions
- 5F - Moving display pivot mechanism into service position
Vehicle Diagnostic Tester leave connected.
-- Always pay attention to the wiring guide and wire mount on the display kinematics support. Take a picture of the wiring guide and mount before disconnecting the connectors.
- 8-Pin Connector -T8e-, Drive Display
- 4-Pin Connector -T4ao-, Display
- 8-Pin Connector -T8ai-, Display
-arrows- : wire mounts
-- Release and disconnect the connectors from the display kinematics support.
-- Remove the left and right screws -2- on the display kinematics support -1-.
-- Remove the display -3- downward from the display kinematics support -1-.
