Overview - External Multimedia Device Connection, Through My 2016
There are several External Audio Source Connection -R199- versions:
- AMI (Audi music interface)
- AMI (Audi music interface) - USB charging
- AUX IN
- AUX IN - USB charging

The External Audio Source Connection -R199- is connected to the Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794-
Component Location AMI, UE7
The connection -1- is located in the center console storage compartment -2-.
AMI Component Location - USB Connection BaseplateR193, UE7
The connections -1- are located in the center console storage compartment -2-.
Component location AUX IN jack, UE3
The connection -1- is located in the center console storage compartment -2-.
AUX IN component location - USB Connection BaseplateR193
The connection -1- is located in the center console storage compartment -2-.
Either an AMI or AUX IN jack is installed.
Different external audio sources can be connected to the External Audio Source Connection -R199- :
- iPod
- MP3 player
- USB Stick
Suitable adapter cables are needed. Refer to the Owner's Manual.
Fault Finding is performed using the "Guided Fault Finding"Β on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
